Workshop: Buzzing Geese with Vasudha Govindan

Buzzing Geese is a modern interpretation of the traditional flying geese block. It varies size and placement of the geese to create movement, and give it a fresh, modern look. Varying the color or value of the "geese" creates an illusion of spiral movement.

About the Event

Buzzing Geese is a modern interpretation of the traditional flying geese block. It varies size and placement of the geese to create movement, and give it a fresh, modern look. Varying the color or value of the "geese" creates an illusion of spiral movement.

Learn to make accurate flying geese units without special rulers or tools. Experiment with different colors and values to change the look of your quilt. Use large scraps or fat quarters or ombre fabric for an interesting effect.

Vasudha will also be teaching this workshop at QuiltCon 2024.

There is no fee for the workshop. However, participants are required to purchase a PDF pattern ($10.) Link to purchase the digital (pdf) pattern will be emailed to participants before the workshop. The pattern will include fabric requirements as well as different color placements and ideas that will help you choose fabric for your quilt.

  • Sewing machine (don't forget pedal & cord!), thread, needle, etc.
