About the Event
We will learn to construct a useful and fun backpack! It’s great for any outing where you need to be hands free the fold over top and closure keep things secure, while the front zippered pocket keeps essentials within easy reach. Adjustable straps make it wearable in any season.
***This pattern calls for sewing through many layers. Please equip your machine with a new heavier weight needle, 90/14 or 80/12. This will be sturdy enough to handle the construction and the various times we will need to topstitch.
Personally, I like to use a 28 wt Aurifil thread for the construction and topstitching to avoid frequent thread changes.
Think about this as you pack and bring thread and pre-wound bobbins. You may also want to bring a
stiletto/chopstick/purple thang to help guide some smaller parts evenly through the machine.***
